Skillspire began when Ali was a volunteer at the Muslim Association of Puget Sound, on their education committee. Ali helped found an evening school to serve full-time workers diverse backgrounds that served 1K+ over the last ten years.
While developing the curricula, Yasmin met several people interested in working in the IT industry who faced significant barriers. She saw overwhelming potential in these people, and that they lacked access formal job training and to tech careers without degrees.
Ali set out to create an accessible bootcamp built for diverse backgrounds. Something for people with intelligence, drive and desire, who needed flexible developer training and professional networking.
