What will I learn from this course?

The Cybersecurity introduction covers how to execute basic commands and communication protocols in your computer. You will get a firm understanding of fundamental structures of the operating system and learn about the cyber-attack cycle.

This unit will cover an introduction to networking, the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) and Transmission Control Protocol (TCP/IP) model, routing, switching, security, and troubleshooting.

This unit will cover how to administer, maintain, and harden a Microsoft domain environment that incorporates Windows operating systems. You will receive an introduction to Windows client and server. Afterwards, you will delve into Powershell, permissions, security, active directory, group policy, Domain Name System (DNS), and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).

This portion of the course focuses on administering and maintaining a secure Linux environment. After an introduction to Linux, you will dive into permissions, users, administration, networking, scripting, services, and hardening.

This unit starts off with Cloud fundamentals and then goes into containers in the Cloud and Cloud security, and ends with advanced cloud.

Networking is taught at an advanced level in this course. This first week of this unit includes a networking recap, network attacks, traffic analysis, and secure access. The second week will take you into the firewall, VPN, monitoring, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS).

The first week of this unit will cover endpoint protection, data loss prevention, email security, and honeypots. The second week will delve into Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), SIEM level II, Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) & SIEM, and physical security.

Python, although at a beginner level, will be taught in this course. Fundamental concepts of data, conditions, loops, files, errors, functions, and network communication are what this unit will cover.

The offensive security spans a total of three weeks. The first week begins with an introduction to ethical hacking, which is followed by recon/network scanning, man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks, social engineering, and brute-force attacks. The second week will cover metasploit, privilege escalation, an introduction to web applications, and vulnerability scanning. The third and final week of this unit explores web application attacks, Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks, SQL injection, and buffer overflows.

The Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR) is where you will conduct an in-depth study of digital forensics. The first week of this unit kicks off with an introduction to DFIR, and then delves into digital forensics, incident response, and data acquisition. The second week will guide you through Windows live and dead analysis, Linux live and dead analysis, memory analysis, and log analysis. The third week will cover static malware analysis, dynamic malware analysis, network forensics, and advanced persistent threats.

This course will conclude with a portfolio-ready, intructor-guided capstone project that will reflect what you learned throughout the course!
